Record Automotive CEE Day 2016

29.04.2016 //

- It was only the third Automotive CEE Day Purchasing Meeting, but each subsequent edition broke records, said Rafał Orłowski, Partner at AutomotiveSuppliers.pl, an automotive industry analyst company and the organizer of the meeting that took place on 14 and 15 April in Opole. 160 companies, mostly from Poland, took part in this year’s edition. - We have also noted a significant increase in the number of foreign companies, mainly from the Czech Republic, Germany and Ireland, added Małgorzata Zborowska-Stęplewska, Partner at AutomotiveSuppliers.pl. - AutomotiveSuppliers.pl participants also included companies from Hungary, Lithuania, Slovakia, Spain and Great Britain. Such a significant increase would not have been possible without the Co-organizers – the Opole Municipal Office and Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “Invest-Park”, as well as the event’s Partners.

Companies participating in the purchasing meeting arranged nearly 900 meetings among themselves using the B2B platform. Additional 150-200 talks were conducted ad hoc during the two-day meeting. Not only did the number of meetings increase, but also of the exhibitors. – During the last year’s edition, we had less than 20 exhibitors; this year this number rose to 35, said Rafał Orłowski.

For many participants, the meeting in Opole was a time filled with intensive business talks. - Automotive CEE Day is a perfect solution for conducting as much as several dozen talks with potential suppliers or ordering parties in a short period of time and in one place, assessed Małgorzata Zborowska-Stęplewska. - The banquet that concluded the 1st day gave everyone a way to relax, which allowed everyone to conduct talks in a less formal way.

It is worth noting that Automotive CEE Day is constantly evolving. In the beginning, it was first and foremost a B2B meeting platform, with exhibition added in the following year. This year, potential foreign investors could not only meet with Polish and CEE suppliers, but also obtain complete feedback on investment opportunities in our country, and on the offering of Special Economic Zone “Invest-Park” and the Opole region. - Understanding and meeting expectations of automotive companies form the basis of record results of Automotive CEE Day 2016,” concluded Rafał Orłowski. “We are already inviting companies for the next year’s purchasing meeting.
